Competition Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions are the rules (“Rules“) which shall regulate the “Spot the Piper” competition (“Competition“) run in conjunction with Piping At Forres 2018 by Forres Events Ltd (“the Company”). By entering the Competition, entrants (“You”) agree to be bound by these Rules.


To qualify to enter the Competition You must be over the age of 18.

Only one entry per person to the Competition is allowed.

Competition entries must be made in the manner specified in these Rules and on the Website which hosts the Competition. Failure to do so will disqualify the entry.

Entry into the Competition shall be made through the completion of the form online at answering the various questions detailed on that webpage. Your name, a mailing address within the UK (for receipt of any communication or delivery of any prize) and an email address must be provided, as well as the correct answers to the questions to be eligible for inclusion in the draw which will take place as described below. Entries must be made before noon BST on Friday 1 June 2018 (“the Closing Date”). There is no purchase requirement to enter the Competition.


The Prize winner will be chosen by the directors of the Company at random, from a selection of those who have completed valid online forms that correctly answer all the questions, within 4 days of the Closing Date.


The Prize winner will be notified by use of the email address submitted with the online return within 14 days of the Closing Date. Return of any Prize notification as undeliverable or failure to reply as specified in the notification (and within the time stated) may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.

The Prize is a Family Ticket to Piping at Forres 2018, comprising 2 adult and 2 youth tickets, and a family ticket for the Keith to Dufftown railway.

There is no cash alternative to the Prize.


Winners may be requested to take part in promotional activity and by entering into the Competition You agree that the Company has the right to use the names of the winner in any publicity both in paper format and online.

Data Protection

Any personal data relating to entrants will not be disclosed to a third party, other than as part of the administration of the Competition, without the individual’s consent or as required by law. Personal data will not be retained by the Company beyond 12 months after the closing date of the Competition.

Legal matters

The Company reserves the right to cancel or amend the Competition or the Rules without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside its reasonable control. Any changes will be posted on the Website on which the Competition was hosted.

In the event of any dispute regarding the Rules, conduct, results and all other matters relating to a Competition, the decision of the Company shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.

The Company reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of the Rules.

In the event that any entrant is disqualified from the Competition, the Company in its sole discretion may decide whether a replacement should be selected. In this event, any further entrant will be selected on the same criteria as the original entrant and subject to these Rules.

The Company cannot accept responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, destruction, alteration of, or unauthorised access to entries, or entries lost or delayed whether or not arising during operation or transmission as a result of server functions, virus, bugs or other causes outside its control.


The Company cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the Competition or as a result of accepting any Prize. The Company is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction whatsoever of any means of communication, including but not limited to any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or mobile device related to or resulting from participation in the Competition.


The Competition and Rules will be governed by the laws of Scotland.
