We are delighted to have a Highland Dancing competition running alongside the Piping and Drumming and Drum Major competitions. The dancing competition takes place in the beautiful Floral Garden area of Grant Park, close to the Food & Drink village and the World Tattie Scones Championships.

The Highland Dancing will begin at 10.30am with Primary, Beginners and Novice. The prize giving will follow directly after the competition at lunchtime.

The Intermediate and Premier Sections will begin at 14.00 hrs with the prize giving at around 4pm depending on the number of entrants.

Competitors

Free parking spaces will be available for Highland Dancers’ cars at Anderson’s School, just across from Grant Park in South Street. There will be local traffic diversions in place so please follow the signs. Parking stewards will direct you into the car park.

Each registered competitor is entitled to a free wristband, which allows access to Grant Park throughout the day. If a competing dance is under 18 a free wristband is also allocated to one accompanying adult. These must be collected on arrival from the steward in the playground to Anderson’s School.    Please make sure that you have been given the correct wristbands before leaving the school.

Changing facilities are available in the soccer pavilion in Grant Park.

Small pop-up tents may be erected  but only within the designated area adjacent to the dancing stage. A tent in the wrong place can block others’ views and spoil their enjoyment of the dancing.
